MaXsave vs PolicyTek
Both put live inbound life insurance calls in a licensed agent's browser. They are built around different things — one is a call platform, the other a CRM with a marketplace — and they bill a call differently. Here is the side-by-side, without the adjectives.
PolicyTek facts from policytek.com and their published product behaviour, October 2026. PolicyTek is a trademark of its owner; MaXsave is not affiliated with it.
Side by side
Twelve things agents ask about
| Topic | MaXsave | PolicyTek |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An inbound call platform: the calls, the routing and the agent desk, built for one job — a live final expense caller on the line with a licensed agent. | A CRM / agency-management platform for life insurance professionals, with a lead marketplace that sells form leads and inbound calls as add-ons. |
| Where the calls come from | Consumer-initiated final expense callers from TV and digital campaigns, bought by us and routed to the floor. One plan per source, one plan at a time. | A marketplace of call plans by source and tier. Agents subscribe to one call plan at a time. |
| When a call is charged | Only after a live caller is bridged to you and the call qualifies as billable under your plan — which follows whether the call source charged us. An unanswered ring costs nothing; a call that does not qualify is never charged, so there is no refund form. | A call is billed when it passes the plan’s buffer, which is a few seconds on most plans and longer on some. Calls under the buffer are refundable on request. |
| Pricing model | Per call, from a prepaid wallet. No lead list, no dialer seat, no monthly fee to take calls. Per-call price shown on each plan before you join. | A monthly per-user subscription for the CRM, plus per-call and per-lead prices in the marketplace, published on their site. |
| How a call reaches you | Every online agent licensed in the caller’s state rings at once; the first to answer takes the call, auto-answered after three tones with the caller’s file on screen. | Routed by the agent’s call plan and licensed states to the agent’s in-app softphone. |
| Exclusivity | One caller, one agent. Never shared, never resold. | Exclusive per their marketplace terms. |
| After the call | Recording with a disclosure before the bridge, transcript and AI summary filed to the contact on every call; a graded scorecard against the script when a call is reviewed. | Call recording and AI call analysis with a score and feedback per call. |
| Texting | Two-way SMS from the agent’s own line in the same screen, with STOP/START/HELP handled. | SMS from the CRM, including automated text sequences. |
| Rater | Rater with the floor’s carriers on one screen, a click away mid-call. | Rater built into the CRM. |
| Outbound dialing | Inbound first. Agents place callbacks to their own callers from the desk; there is no dialer to feed with lists. | A power dialer for your own leads is offered as a separate product with its own weekly fee. |
| Agencies | Own floor, seats by role (owner, admin, agent, CSR), per-seat choice of who pays for calls, routing by each producer’s licenses, TV boards, reporting and commission statements by carrier. | Multi-agency workspaces with roles, team reporting and policy management. |
| Where they are ahead | We do not sell form leads, build landing pages, run automation sequences or manage in-force policies. If your business is built on those, their platform covers more of it today. | Lead marketplace with form leads, agent landing pages, automations and policy / commission management across carriers. |
Questions on the comparison
Is MaXsave a CRM like PolicyTek?+
MaXsave is an inbound call platform with the agent desk built in: contacts, dispositions, applications, callbacks, SMS, rater and reporting live where the calls arrive. It does not try to be a full agency-management system for in-force policies.
Can I use both?+
Nothing stops you. Agents who keep a CRM elsewhere take calls on MaXsave in a browser tab and work the rest of their book where they always have.
What is the biggest practical difference?+
How a short call is handled. On MaXsave a call that does not qualify is never charged, so there is nothing to refund. On a buffer-and-refund model you are billed once the buffer passes and ask for the money back when a call should not have counted.
